Golden Boy Promotions was established in 2002 by current Chairman and CEO Oscar De La Hoya, an International Hall of Famer and a 10-time World Champion in six divisions. Golden Boy is the first Latino-owned boxing promotions company with a world-renowned reputation in organizing the largest and highest grossing events in the history of the sport.

With more than two-decades as an industry leader and a lengthy roster of past, current and future world champions, Golden Boy will continue to leave an indelible mark in sports history.

OSCAR DE LA HOYA

A superstar whose popularity transcends boxing, Oscar De La Hoya is known around the world not only as one of the best fighters of his era, but as an elite promoter, Grammy-nominated singer, astute businessman and active philanthropist. Over the course of his boxing career, Oscar was an Olympic gold medalist, 10-time World Champion in six divisions and among the biggest draws in the history of the sport. Since retiring from the ring in 2009, Oscar has focused his attention on building the company he founded, Golden Boy Promotions, into one of the most successful boxing promotion companies in the world.

Elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2014, Oscar has also been named Promoter of the Year by Sports Illustrated and Boxing Man of the Year by Yahoo! Sports in recognition of his significant contributions to the sport of boxing. De La Hoya has also been recognized by lawmakers in Washington, DC, California and Los Angeles for his many contributions to society, at large. Today, De La Hoya continues to lead Golden Boy Promotions as chairman and CEO with a focus on building the sport’s next generation of talented superstars.

ERIC GOMEZ

A cornerstone of Golden Boy, President Eric Gomez plays a pivotal role overseeing day-to-day functions of all boxing-related aspects and is responsible for organizing some of the most consequential fights of the modern boxing era. With more than three decades in boxing, Gomez has a wrap-around, institutional knowledge of the sport. He played a grand role in the company’s inception in 2002 and has served in various job titles, ranging from travel, fighter operations, and most importantly matchmaking. Gomez has sharp, business acuity and has been able to secure some of the biggest opportunities across the globe for Golden Boy fighters on world class platforms ranging from HBO, ESPN and most recently DAZN.

Gomez has worked with generational talent and the most sought-out world champions including current Golden Boy Chairman and CEO Oscar De La Hoya, Golden Boy Partner and Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins, Marco Antonio Barrera, Marcos Maidana, Érik Morales, Shane Mosley Sr., Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, Juan Manuel Marquez, and Canelo Álvarez to name a few. When not focusing on boxing, Gomez enjoys golfing or hanging out with his family in his native Southern California.

BERNARD HOPKINS

One of the most respected voices in boxing for an unparalleled career and the mental and physical acumen to match, Golden Boy Partner and two-time undisputed champion Bernard Hopkins has defied the odds in every way possible. With multiple world championship defenses, the first undisputed champion in the four-belt era, and a division record of 20 successful title defenses, he has proven that it’s not how your life story starts, it’s how you choose it to end. He is the oldest fighter in the history of the sport to become a world champion. After his retirement from the sport, Hopkins has continued his career as a Golden Boy Promotions Partner, working with Oscar De La Hoya and Eric Gomez to develop the next generation of talent and promote the biggest fights the sport of boxing has to offer.
