Yair Gallardo is a 22-year-old light heavyweight prospect from Chihuahua, Mexico, who turned professional in October 2022 after an accomplished amateur career with over 100 bouts. Known for his punching power, Gallardo carries the nickname “MANOTAS,” meaning heavy hands, a fitting label for a fighter who brings serious force to the ring.
Gallardo continues to build momentum as a rising prospect, most recently earning a unanimous decision victory over Canada’s Buneet Bisla. After scoring a knockdown in the second round, Gallardo remained in control for the rest of the bout, capturing the NABO and WBC FECARBOX light heavyweight titles. Prior to that performance, he delivered a first-round knockout of Elio Heraldo Trosch in Puerto Rico, further establishing himself as one of the division’s promising young contenders.
In July 2025, Gallardo took a major step in his career by signing a co-promotional deal with Golden Boy Promotions and Miguel Cotto Promotions, aligning himself with two of boxing’s most respected promotional forces and positioning himself for continued growth on the global stage. Representing Chihuahua with pride, Gallardo brings toughness, heart and explosiveness to the ring. With each fight, he continues to prove himself as a rising contender in the light heavyweight division, and he’s just getting started!
